MYFUNDBOX vs Paddle: is the lifetime deal the smarter buy?
MYFUNDBOX (lifetime) vs Paddle (~5% + $0.50 per transaction, all-in merchant of record). The honest trade-off on price, fit, and what you actually give up.
Lifetime vs. subscription, in one line
Paddle's fee buys tax compliance you'd otherwise handle yourself; MYFUNDBOX is cheaper but leaves VAT and sales tax to you.
The real question isn't which is "better" in the abstract — it's whether paying SEE LIVE PRICE once for MYFUNDBOX beats Paddle at ~5% + $0.50 per transaction, all-in merchant of record for the way you work.

Where MYFUNDBOX wins
- Fixed, usage-based, tiered and hybrid subscription plans with automated invoicing, reminders and renewals
- Smart retry logic for failed payments (vendor claims up to 30% of lost revenue recovered)
- Self-service customer portal: pause, upgrade, cancel, update payment method
- Cards, PayPal, bank transfer and SEPA via your own gateways; MRR / churn / LTV dashboard
When to keep paying for Paddle
Paddle's fee buys tax compliance you'd otherwise handle yourself; MYFUNDBOX is cheaper but leaves VAT and sales tax to you.
The honest case for Paddle: if you need its full breadth, its newest features the day they ship, or a support SLA a lifetime deal won't match, the subscription is doing a different job. Buy MYFUNDBOX for the specific lane it owns — not as a one-to-one replacement for a much larger platform.
Before you buy
- Billing is the category where vendor longevity matters most — card tokens live at your gateway, not the vendor, but export regularly and run a full billing cycle inside the 30-day refund window
- Lifetime tiers are capped by monthly revenue (third parties: ~$50k/mo + 1 user on the entry tier) — the cap is the spec; confirm the mapping on the live page
- "0% transaction fees" excludes processor fees (Stripe ~2.9% + 30¢ etc.) and it is not a merchant of record — sales tax and VAT stay your job
- Sold on AppSumo, DealFuel and others despite the 'exclusive' page title — compare tiers and refund windows

Our take
Billing platforms charge a percentage of your revenue forever, so a pay-once billing layer with dunning and a customer portal is a genuinely good trade for a small SaaS or membership business — as long as you buy the tier whose monthly revenue cap you'll actually stay under. The caveat is the category itself: this is your revenue rails, and the vendor is small. The architecture helps (your money and card tokens live at Stripe, PayPal or your bank), but treat the refund window as a real migration test and keep exports. Processor fees and tax compliance remain yours either way.
